Speaker Bios

meloy72x72Michael Meloy, CEO, DRS LLC

Michael founded NSI Group in 2000 which later became DRS. He has an extensive IT background across multiple verticals such as Manufacturing and Medical. Michael attended Akron University and has a degree in Mechanical Design. He has worked in both the Steel and Rubber industries before changing his career in 1995. Michael currently sits on the board of Cisco IOS Sub Council, Cisco Commercial Advisory Board, EMC Partner Council, South Range Merchant Board, Ingram’s VTN Council and DRUND.com.

As CEO of DRS, Michael is paving the way for the company to become a well-known regional cloud provider. His ability to build a healthy work environment has helped DRS gain and retain top IT professionals at a time when the market for IT workers is extremely competitive. He currently oversees a staff that includes more than 80 engineers spread across three data center locations. Michael was also a key player in developing a strategic relationship with the City of Westerville to build the nation’s first municipal community data center, which DRS manages. The private-public partnership business model is a niche area that DRS is currently developing with great success.

JoeRoss-72x72Joe Ross, Chief Technology Officer, DRS LLC

Joe is a sales engineer and partner at DRS. He heads up the design of virtual environments and storage. He works closely with the sales department to customize IT solutions to meet clients’ needs. Joe has an electrical engineering degree from Youngstown State University and previously worked as a systems engineer before becoming a co-founder of DRS. He currently holds certifications in Microsoft, VMWare and Cisco.

ToddMiller-72x72Todd Miller, Director of Data Center Operations, DRS LLC

Todd is a telecommunications expert with more than 18 years of experience. His area of expertise is in the operational management, design and operation of Data Centers and Telecomm Facilities. Todd has built more than 30 Telecommunication/Data Center facilities for National Carriers and Enterprise Companies such as Zayo, Level 3, FiberMedia, Sprint, WilTel and Verizon as well as the build of multiple fiber optical routes in Tier 1 cities throughout the U.S.


NickMiller-72x72Nick Miller, Interactive Director/Special Projects, PALO

Nick has 19 years of experience in the conception, development and design of interactive media. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University with an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems. Before joining the PALO team, Nick worked for a Cleveland-based advertising agency, where he created award-winning local, national and international campaigns including Alltel, Glidden, Leifheit, Dunlop, and Alcoa. Currently, Nick oversees the web design team at PALO, with a focus on planning, programming, and implementation.

Ken brings more than 25 years of business and technology consulting experience to his role as director of networking services at BCG Systems. In this role, Ken serves as a specialist in IT strategy for small and medium-sized businesses. Ken is committed to fi nding the best technology solutions that will not only resolve business problems, but create additional opportunities for positive impact to the client’s bottom line.

Ken has signifi cant experience working with clients in the public accounting, manufacturing and distribution, legal, construction and engineering, and health care industries. In addition, his areas of technical specialization include cloud computing, mobile computing, virtualization, thin-client architecture, and Microsoft licensing.

Ken is a member of Microsoft US SMB Cloud Champions Partner Advisory Committee, Level Platform’s Partner Advisory Committee and member and past President of Snowbelt Chapter of Ingram Micro’s Venture Tech Network (VTN). Ken is Certified in technologies from Microsoft (MCSE), Cisco, Citrix and HP.

During his 20+ years in the IT industry, John has enjoyed the opportunity to work as a consultant, architect, executive, speaker, and author. He’s been involved in multi-national networking, messaging, and communications project,s as well as finding solutions for small businesses allowing them to use technology to increase business opportunity and decrease their operational complexity.

John is a contributing editor for the Petri IT Knowledgebase. In addition, he has authored material for both Thomson-Reuters’ Aspatore Books and Exec Blueprints publications. He also develops exciting technology training courses for the leader in IT training, Pluralsight.

John often speaks at IT events around the nation. Recently he has been a featured presenter on innovative technology solutions for the enterprise at conferences such as TechMentor, Cloud and Virtualization Live!360, the NEOSA CIO Summit, and the NorthEast Ohio Technology Summit. When he’s not presenting at a conference, John can often be found leading informative webinars on a variety of technology topics.

John is proud to be honored as a Microsoft MVP and for receiving NEOSA’s CIO of the Year Award.

Justin’s role at EMC specializes in solutions that involve data storage, protection, replication and archive. He primarily works with companies in the transition from traditional IT infrastructure to building a private or hybrid cloud solution for their applications. Justin is a graduate of Robert Morris University with a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Management. His industry certifications include MCP, MCSA, MCSE 2003, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA A+. LinkedIn

joeJoe Clarke, Delivery Consultant, AdvizeX Technologies

Joe is a delivery consultant with a focus in virtualization in the AdvizeX Technologies Services Solutions Practice. The solutions practice focuses on the professional services delivery of enterprise VDI and server-based virtualization solutions. As a part of this team, Joe has designed, deployed, and maintained VDI projects with complex and difficult requirements.

Joe Harford is the Founder of Reclamere. Reclamere is 13 years old and provides secure ITAD services nationwide, specifically in the healthcare, financial services, and education markets. He is responsible for developing and managing all enterprise level accounts for the company. Joe has worked in a wide variety of business sectors: hospitality, manufacturing, and higher education.  He currently serves on the Board of Regents for the CSDS Certification with NAID. Joe is currently working on his PhD in entrepreneurship and business success factors.  Joe is married with three boys, one granddaughter and a 4 month old German Short-Haired Pointer.

zack-72x72Zach Wunderle, Data Protection and Availability Specialist, EMC

Zach currently helps hundreds of customers across Ohio and Pennsylvania with architecting their next generation backup strategies. One of his main roles today is to help share EMC’s vision as the world’s largest backup company. He is a former Data Domain employee who stayed on after the acquisition to help anchor EMC’s Data Protection and Availability division in the Ohio Valley. Most importantly, he gives time and resources back to businesses because they are no longer worried about their backups. He has done this through providing options for customers to eliminate tape, decrease backup windows, and/or embrace the cloud for backup!

jason72x72Jason Acord, Systems Engineer, Veeam

Working throughout college in IT led Jason to eventually move to Atlanta working in the IT industry full time. Once in Atlanta, he worked for Royal Oak Charcoal, helping to lead the IT department from a Windows Server/networking perspective. While at Royal Oak, virtually all aspects of the network were under his control, be it new servers, new server rollouts, as well as working with the mainframe team to streamline the gap between the IBM mainframe to the Windows world. After leaving Royal Oak, Jason moved into the consulting arena, focusing on the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction firms. While in the consulting role, Jason did everything for the clients he was assigned to, from remote CTO, acquisition and rolling out new server(s), new datacenters, project management, etc. Now, Jason is a Systems Engineer for Veeam software based out of Atlanta, GA, and recently received his Veeam Certified Engineer designation, along with numerous other IT industry certifications.

Laurent’s business experience is concentrated within the computer industry focusing in Network, Data Communications, and Computer Technology. He is presently a Senior Technical Sales Consultant, IP Specialist for AT&T Emerging Business Markets Department. In this role, Laurent supports and aids in the selling process of AT&T Data & Internet Services by interfacing with customers as the Technical Support Specialist. He consults and sells to companies who have domestic and worldwide networking needs. These services include: Cloud Technologies Services, Virtualization Services, Internet Provider Services, Multiprotocol Label Switching Services, Voice over IP Services, and Virtual Private Network Services. Laurent designs and presents solutions that solve customer needs and issues, and educate customers and support specialists in all aspects of AT&T Data and Internet Services. Laurent is also a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Business VOIP Services and a CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional). Previously, Laurent taught University Business Social Sciences classes as an Adjunct Professor for Penn State University from 2006 to 2013. He has an Masters of Education degree from the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University and a B.A. from Temple University.

John Englhardt is the founder and President of E Technologies, a mission-critical facilities solution provider located in Chagrin Falls, Oh. John graduated from Miami University with an engineering degree and began working as a sales and application engineer specializing in computer room power and cooling back in 1983. John has held various regional and national sales management positions with Liebert Corporation and Exide Electronics (now Eaton) prior to founding E Technologies in 1998. E Technologies is Eaton Corp.’s exclusive Representative for Power Quality and Data Center Solutions for Northern Ohio. E Technologies provides specification, application, installation, and life-cycle service solutions that include UPS systems, Batteries, Precision Cooling, Humidification, Power Distribution, IT enclosures, and a host of Monitoring solutions to optimize an IT Environment’s reliability and efficiency.

Mr. Lauer is an expert in International Compliance Legislation such as Sarbanes Oxley, HIPPA, FINRA, SEC, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, HITECH, BASIL and FSA. His efforts have been focused in the Mobility Space for a decade. Mitch has consulted with organizations of varying sizes across multiple verticals to identify vulnerabilities and define security requirements relevant to the usage of Mobile Devices. Mitch has vast experience defining granular mobility strategies which address the concerns of the various stakeholders in organizations including Oracle, Novell, Securitas, and CSG International.

He consults with many organizations to assist them with finding applications and process automation specific to their business, through the usage of SmartPhones and tablets. He is asked by many organizations to provide insight when they are assessing exposures and gains with corporate-owned mobile devices versus personally owned devices when accessing company data.

He currently holds the position of Senior Sales Enterprise and Business Development Director at Globo Mobile Technologies Inc. (formerly Notify Technology Corp), a subsidiary of Globo Plc. U.S. Headquarters for Globo Mobile Technologies is located in San Jose, CA.  Globo’s U.S. technical campus for product development, testing, training and technical support is located in Canfield, Ohio.

Stuart Hay joined Cisco as part of the Whiptail acquisition in October of 2013.  He has over 15 years of storage and data center experience and is now a Product Sales Specialist supporting UCS Invicta in the North Central region.

Bob Houser is the HP Account Manager for Partner Managed Print Services in the Midwest. In this role, he manages the Midwest region and works with Partners, Account Managers and End Users for opportunities with Managed Print Services. HP is considered a leader in Managed Print Services.

Carl comes to DRS with more than 13 years of experience in the accounting and finance position with privately held organizations. He has served in various roles in his previous employment including Controller, Assistant Treasurer and most recently as VP of Finance and CFO. Carl received both his BA and MBA degrees from Youngstown State University.
